From October 2010 the role of the Secretariat of the Reference Group to the UN will be undertaken by the Medical Research Council of South Africa. Since April 2007 the Secretariat has been operated by the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. The new Secretariat team will be led by Professor Charles Parry and Bronwyn Myers, the latter who has participated as a member of the Reference Group for the last two years.
